What is a hotshot service?
A hotshot service or same-day shipping uses a dedicated trailer to deliver freight directly, in order to meet deadlines. A hotshot service is frequently, but not always, performed using a hotshot trailer (*link*), as any same-day service using various trailer types is considered a hotshot service. Hotshot services can sometimes be more economical than regular LTL and are used by shippers that need to get freight delivered on time.
