What is a roll-tite/Conestoga flatbed trailer?
Equipped with a retractable tarping system to cover the flatbed trailer, a roll-tite or sometimes referred to as a Conestoga trailer, is mainly used as an alternative to standard tarps to protect the material from the elements. Using a roll-tite is much more efficient than regular tarping, as the driver simply & easily retracts the tarping system like an accordion towards the front of the trailer. This means that a load receives the same protection of a dry van, but can be loaded/off-loaded from the sides for easier access to the freight. However, always check all dimensions with your account manager to make sure that your roll-tite will clear the height of your freight.
