Equipment - Enclosed Trailers

Dry Van Trailer

When you think of trucking & logistics, the first thing that should come to mind is a dry van trailer.  This enclosed trailer is covered on all sides and has a roof to protect the material from weather conditions (hence the name “dry van”) & theft.  These trailers are not only the most common but also the most economical. Loaded from the rear only, usually via shipping docks, dry vans come in various lengths up to 53 feet long.

Enclosed Straight Truck

An enclosed straight truck has its trailer attached as one piece. Similar to a dry van, but smaller and without a detachable trailer, straight trucks are mainly used for lighter deliveries with less freight and are usually the more economical solution versus dry vans. Additionally, straight trucks are, as a result of their smaller size, more easily maneuverable in tighter spaces such as residential neighborhoods, congested downtown areas, and job sites. Straight trucks also tend to feature special attachments such as tailgates to lower freight to ground level when off-loading.
